The Masters in Hospital administration offers a detailed overview of healthcare and
is the perfect springboard to a variety of careers in the healthcare sector. It is a
two-year program covered in four semesters that provides a comprehensive
overview of health and health care, including Legal, Marketing in Healthcare, Public
Health, Quality Management, Hospital Planning, Finance and Cost Accounting to
name a few areas. The students are trained to develop general managerial skills,
functional areas in Management and are exposed to the clinical areas of the
hospital. The students get hands-on experience, to integrate their knowledge and
develop key professional skills in a busy health setting as they undertake
supervised work experience in all semesters. They receive a solid foundation that
will transform them into competent, ethically driven, pioneering administrators who
can make a mark in the dynamic healthcare industry.
Scope
Potential career paths include managerial positions such as : Hospital Administrator, Clinic
Manager, Healthcare Consultant, Nursing Home Administrator, Health Insurance Manager,
Public Health Administrator, Healthcare Policy Analyst, Government Health Services
Manager, Pharmaceutical Project Manager
The Program
- It is a 4 semester course spanning over 2 years with a major project in the
final semester. First three semesters have 4 main subjects and includes
posting in various clinical and non clinical departments of the hospital. The
final semester comprises of project and internship.
- Visits to various hospitals both in government and corporate sector are
organized regularly and provide first hand exposure to various models of
hospital functioning.
- Regular Guest lectures are organised once a month exposing the students
to a wide stream of new innovations in the health care administration. Soft
skills training are imparted to the students to develop their Leadership,
Communication and Team building skills.
- Journal club is organised regularly in a month and these sessions, are
followed by discussions by faculty and students.
- Students participate in co-curricular programs organized within the campus
& by other colleges. Students are encouraged to present research papers in
International and National conferences.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for admission a candidate shall have obtained
- Full time Regular Bachelor degree in any one of the following from an institution
recognized by respective council where applicable, and is affiliated to RGUHS –viz.,
MBBS, BDS, B.Sc Nursing (Basic or Post basic) B. Pharm, B.Sc.in Allied Health
Sciences, or from any other university established under law considered equivalent
thereto by RGUHS.

- Full time Regular Bachelor degree in Arts, Commerce, Law, Engineering or
Management of a University established under law and recognized by the
University Grants Commission
