Dr Anissa Thomas , Assistant Professor is the staff in-charge of the RHTC. Dr Jessy Dsouza, Obstetrician is the Lady Medical Officer for the RHTC.
The doctors are assisted in their daily activities by Medico-social workers, Health educators, Health inspectors, Public Health Nurse, Technicians and other support staff.
The RHTC Bajpe catchment area covers about 9 villages, Thokur, Kenjaru, Malavoor, Bajpe, Paduperar, Muduperar, Kolambe, Adyapady and Kandavara. The RHTC covers population of 64000 and has got about 13500 family folders.
The specialist OPD is managed by the Faculty and Postgraduates of respective departments. The OPD caters to the health care needs of the population in the RHTC field practice area. This has facilities for patient examination and basic laboratory investigations. The diagnosis and treatment of patients including distribution of basic essential drugs are free.
RHTC has 24X7 Casualty services. It is supervised by the Lady Medical Officer and Night Duty Medical Officer. The Centre has got X ray as well as Telecardiology facilities available 24X7. An ambulance is stationed 24x7 at RHTC Bajpe for urgent referral of the patients to higher centres. Many lives have been saved due to urgent referral after teleconsultation in Acute Coronary Syndromes.
Ultrasonography services are made available in RHTC from February 12, 2022. Radiologist services are made available every Saturday 9-1pm.
RHTC has a well-equipped AV aids training hall with white board, Over Head Projector, LCD projector & computer along with a printer and power supply back up by Generator. This is used extensively for undergraduate, Interns teaching and training.
Interns are posted for 1 month per batch in the RHTC. On an average there are 6-8 interns posted at one time. The interns are posted in rotation in all 3 OPDs and Casualty. The RHTC runs a mess. Staff, post graduates and Interns use the mess daily. The RHTC has got separate hostel facilities (Male and Female) for postgraduates and interns. The RHTC also has liasion with the Government Primary Health Center, Bajpe in day-to-day functioning, implementation of all the national programmes. The RHTC supports the Bimonthly Health check up and Health Education Activities in 32 Anganwadis in the catchment area
RHTC visit, Anganwadi visit and family study are scheduled in the time table for the MBBS students posted in the Department of Community medicine to facilitate the students to learn the various aspects of Primary health care.
