- Dr Shrilakshmi M Prabhu, Assistant Professor of General Medicine, awarded MRCP (UK) and became a member of the Royal College of Physicians, UK in October 2022.
- Dr Savita Lasrado, Associate Professor of ENT, conferred with the degree of FACS (Fellow of American College of Surgeons) at the convocation ceremony in San Diego, CA, USA from 16th to 20th October 2022.
- Dr Vinay V. Rao, Professor of ENT, completed a two-year Fellowship Program (July 2020 through July 2022) offered by MAHE – FAIMER International Institute of Leadership in Inter-professional Education (M-FIILIPE) of the Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal, in collaboration with the Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research, Philadelphia, USA on 15.10.2022.
- Dr Hilda Fernandes, Professor, Department of Pathology, appointed as Principal of FMCOAHS on 16th November 2022. She also completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling (PGDC) during the year 2022-23 from School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangaluru, and was awarded Excellent (Best Outgoing Student) with Grade A++.
- Dr Scandashree K, Assistant Professor of Pharmacology, secured First Prize in the Oral Presentation titled “Across sectional study to evaluate antimicrobial usage according to WHO – access, watch, reserve (aware) classification in the surgical wards of a tertiary health care centre in Dakshina Kannada District” at a National Conference of Pharmacovigilance and Outcomes of Research jointly organized by the NGSM Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and ISPOR NITTE, Student Chapter, Mangaluru on 2nd and 3rd December 2022.
- Dr Jostol Pinto, Associate Professor of Cardiology, designated as Fellow of the Indian Society of Electrocardiology (FISE) certified on 19.11.2022. He co-authored a chapter titled “Single Antiplatelet Therapy versus Dual Antiplatelet Therapy versus Dual Pathway Inhibition Therapy in Vertebral Artery Disease” published in the textbook titled Advances in CLOT Treatment (ACT), First Edition, 2023 (ISBN:978-93-5696-094-7).
- Dr Chandini, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, received the ‘Resilience Award’ at the 6th National Symposium on Women’s Mental Health & Perinatal Psychiatry in Chandigarh on 10th December 2022.
- Dr Smitha Bhat, Professor of Medicine, and Dr Archana Bhat, Associate Professor of Pathology, authored a textbook on Medical Education ‘Linker Case Primer; Integrated Teaching in CBME Curriculum’ published on Amazon and available on the Kindle store.
- Dr Archana Bhat, Associate Professor of Pathology, appointed as Editor-in-Chief of RGUHS Journal of Allied Health Sciences for two years up to 31.05.2023. She authored a textbook titled “Essentials of Renal Pathology”.
- Dr Manjunath J., Professor & HOD of Nephrology, appointed as Assistant Editor of RGUHS Journal of Allied Health Sciences for two years up to 31.05.2023.
- Dr Rochelle Cheryle Monteiro, Associate Professor of Dermatology, completed a one-year course on “Effective Writing for Health Care Program (EWHC)” from 01.06.2022 to 15.06.2023 from Harvard Medical School, Boston, Massachusetts, USA.
- Prof. Cherishma DSilva, appointed as the first Principal of Father Muller College of Physiotherapy on 27.09.2023. She presented a paper at the International Conference of Multinational Association of Cancer Care (#MASCC2023) held in Nara, Japan on 24.06.2023. She was the only Indian physiotherapist to represent India and our institution at this platform in the field of Exercise Oncology.
- Dr Reshma G. Kini, Professor of Pathology, completed the Advanced Course in Medical Education and won the Best Poster Award at the NMC Advanced Course in Medical Education (ACME) conducted on 04.08.2023 by the NMC Nodal Centre for Faculty Development at KAHER’S J.N. Medical College, Belagavi. She was also chosen for a fellowship at the Foundation for Advancement in International Medical Education & Research (FAIMER) at Seth GS Medical College, Mumbai.
- Dr Nishanth Baliga, Assistant Professor of Critical Care Medicine, co-authored two chapters: “Overview and Importance of Hemodynamic Monitoring” and “Non-invasive Hemodynamic Monitoring” published in the prestigious Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine (ISCCM) “Textbook of Critical Care Medicine”.
- Dr Elroy Saldanha, Assistant Professor of Surgical Oncology, delivered a lecture on “Carcinoma Thyroid – An Uninvited Excrescence” during the 6th Mid-Year Conference of Karnataka State Chapter of the Association of Surgeons of India held at Sri Devaraj URS Academy of Higher Education and Research, Tamaka, Kolar on 12.08.2023 and 13.08.2023.
- Dr Maitreyee D.S, Professor & HOD of Biochemistry, appointed as a member of the Board of Studies, NITTE University, for a period of 3 years from 01.09.2023.
- Dr Aruna Yadiyal, Professor of Psychiatry, received the Dr Sunanda R Kulkarni Annual Eminent Medical Literature Award for her book in Kannada on Child Mental Health: “Makkala Mana Moggina Hoovana” during the 4th IMA Karnataka Chapter - Vaidya Barahagarara Sangha Conference held at Shimogga on 02.09.2023. She authored a chapter titled ‘Arogya Samskrithi’ published by Karnataka Sahithya. She is appointed as the Convener of the Women Empowerment Committee of the Indian Psychiatric Society - South Zone (SAMANWI) for the year 2023.

- Dr. Prasanna N Bhat, Assistant Professor of Microbiology, presented a project and won 1st prize in Muller Medithon -2023 organized by Father Muller Research Centre held on 10th and 11th March 2023.
- Dr. Beena Antony, awarded the Pfizer Best Researcher of FMMC for the academic year 2022-2023, sponsored by Pfizer Ltd for research and innovation ecosystem in India. She also received the Dr. B Sanjeev Rai Gold Medal for distinguished researcher of the academic year 2022-2023.
- Dr J. Stephanie Lilia, Senior Resident of Pathology, completed Post Doctoral Fellowship Training in Dermatopathology associated with the Asian Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, recognized by the European Union of Medical Specialist Division of Dermatology and Pathology from 01.07.2023 to 30.09.2023.

- Dr Prashanth YM, Professor of Medicine, appointed as Member of the Board of Studies, NITTE (deemed to be university) for three years.
- Dr Prathima Prabhu, Assistant Professor of OBG Department, received the Degree of MRCOG of the United Kingdom and became a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, London on 01.10.2023.
- Dr Jyothi Jayaraman, Assistant Professor of Dermatology, received the Community Dermatology Award for her project titled “Teledermatological tracking and prevention of cashew nut dermatitis” DERMLINK Research Grant received from the International Foundation for Dermatology through the International League of Dermatological Societies (ILDS).
- Dr Ramesh Bhat M, Professor of Dermatology, honored during the World Congress of Dermatology (WCD) Singapore from July 2-8, for having served the International League of Dermatological Societies (ILDS) from 2019-2023. He was the first elected Indian International Director in the history of ILDS.
- Dr Rochelle Monteiro, Associate Professor of Dermatology, awarded the DERMLINK 2023 Research Grant (International) under the International Foundation for Dermatology through the International League of Dermatological Societies (ILDS) for the community-based research project “Closing the cycle of marginalization- Migrant Workers and Neglected Tropical Disorders of Skin (NTDs) in South India”. Only one project per country is selected for this prestigious grant among a multitude of applicants.
- Dr B M Zeeshan Hameed, Professor & HOD of Urology, is the first Indian Urologist to be inducted as a Board Member of the European Association of Urology - Young Academic Urologists (Endourology & Urolithiasis Working Group).
- Dr Raghavendra B S, Professor & HOD of Neurology, received the Golden Aim Conference Award for Excellence & Leadership in Healthcare on 20.02.2023 by Dynergic Business Solutions. He also received the Global Icon Award presented at the Global Economic Forum G20 Initiative Summit on 25.01.2023, at Bali, Indonesia. He was awarded the Chandanavana Critics Award, Times Icon Award, Vishwamanya Award from Kannada Press Council during the Dubai Dehradun International Film Festival for debut direction in Prema Poojyam, Honorary Doctorate in Film Production and Creativity from KEISEI International University, Bali on 13.01.2023.

- Dr Shivashankara A.R., Professor of Biochemistry, won first prize in E-Poster presentation for his paper titled “Evaluation of effectiveness of an online, case-based, self-directed learning programme in Biochemistry for first year medical students” during the 12th National Conference on Health Professions Education held from 26th to 30th October 2021 at Sri Guru Ram Das University of Health Sciences, Amritsar.
- Dr Sudhir Prabhu, Professor of Community Medicine, nominated as External Member (Allied Field) in the Board of Studies of MSW, School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya (Autonomous), Mangalore.
- Dr Anston Vernon Braggs, Assistant Professor of Radio Diagnosis, won third prize for e-poster presentation titled “Assessment of Inter-observer variability in CT – severity scoring protocols in Sars Cov-2 infection” in the ‘Scientific exhibit’ category during the virtual third Annual National Conference of Society of chest imaging and intervention (SCII – CON 2021) held in September/October/November 2021.
- Dr Shruthi, Assistant Professor of Microbiology, won second prize for presenting an e-poster titled “Simulation based approach in learning microbiological sample collection techniques” at Simulcon 2021, 3rd Annual International Simulation Conference held virtually from 3rd to 5th December 2021. She also received certification as a “Certified Professional in Biorisk Management” by the Certification body of the International Federation of Biosafety Associations (IFBA).
- Dr B.M. Zeeshan Hameed, Professor of Urology, selected as the Chairman of Youth Section of Urological Society of India (YOU-USI) from 2022 to 2024. He received the “SS BAPAT Prize” for ideas and innovation and “USI Member Travelling Fellowship” during the 55th USICON 2022, the annual conference of Urological Society of India held at Ahmedabad from 27th to 29th January 2022.
- Dr Jyothi Jayaraman, Assistant Professor of Dermatology, and Dr Rochelle Monteiro, Associate Professor of Dermatology, secured first and third prize respectively in the ACAD Quiz 2021-22 series organized during the e-DERMACON 2022, 50th National Conference of IADVL held from 4th to 6th February 2022.
- Dr Jostol Pinto, Assistant Professor of Cardiology, co-authored a chapter titled “Oxidative Stress and Statin Therapy” published in a textbook titled ’Advances in Statin Therapy & Beyond in CVD (ASTC)’ (1st Edition, 2022) (ISBN:978-93-5465-393-3).
- Dr Aruna Yadiyal, Professor of Psychiatry, authored a chapter titled “Movies with Message on Healthy Ageing” published in a book titled ‘Insights for Healthy Ageing Volume 2’ by National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bangalore.
- Dr Raghavendra B S, Professor of Neurology, awarded Iconic Healthcare Leader Award-Neurologist for Excellence & Leadership in Healthcare on 6th April 2022, by Dynergic Business Solution.
- Dr Mangala S., Assistant Professor of Pharmacology, won second prize in Poster Competition for her poster titled “A cross sectional study to assess the knowledge, attitude and practice of health care professionals regarding reporting of medical device related adverse events in a tertiary care centre” at the National Online Conference on Materiovigilance organized by Medical Device Monitoring Centre in collaboration with NCC-MVPI, IPC Government of India at Panimalar Medical College Hospital and Research Institute, Chennai on 2nd July 2022.
- Dr Sudhir Prabhu, Professor & HOD of Community Medicine, felicitated by the District Health and Family Welfare Society, District Surveillance Unit, COVID War Room, Dakshina Kannada, Mangalore for serving as a member in the COVID-19 death audit committee at the COVID war room, Mangalore City Corporation, Mangalore, Dakshina Kannada. His humility, kindness, and dedication have been greatly appreciated by the District Health administration.
- Dr Ramesh Bhat M., Vice Dean and Professor of Dermatology, awarded by the Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists (IADVL) for his services as President (National) 2018 and Secretary General (National) 2010-12 of IADVL during the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of IADVL held at New Delhi, NCR, Kaushambi on 22nd August 2022. He also received an award on 18th December 2021 (Online) for his work as National President of IADVL on topical corticosteroids as Schedule H drug by the Government of India.
- Mrs Hilda Pinto, Assistant Professor of Microbiology, honored with the “Best Teacher Award” in recognition of her services to teaching in the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bengaluru on 5th September 2022, during Teachers Day celebration at Dhanvanthri Auditorium, University Campus.

- Dr Jyothi Jayaraman, Assistant Professor of Dermatology, received DermLink grant of USD $1,400 from the International Foundation for Dermatology (IFD) for a project by the International League of Dermatological Societies (ILDS) through the Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists & Leprologists (IADVL).
- Dr Myfanwy Joanne D Souza completed observership on “Lasers, Aesthetic Dermatology and Dermatosurgery” for four weeks from 1st March 2021 to 28th March 2021 at Dr. Venus Institute of Skin and Hair, Hyderabad.
