OVERVIEW

Department of General a Surgery, Father Muller Medical College Hospital provides comprehensive care in the various General Surgical, Laparoscopic and Oncological diseases. We have surgical faculty managing the outpatient department and the emergency departments round the clock including Sundays and national holidays.

Department of General Surgery is equipped with Endoscopy and Colonoscopy units which help in diagnosis and biopsy of various gastrointestinal diseases and malignancies and also in therapeutic interventions like Banding, Sclerotherapy, Snaring etc.,

We also have a high definition laparoscopic unit and trained Laproscopic Surgeons conducting various G.I., Colorectal, Hernia and Gall Bladder related Laproscopic Surgery with excellent results.

Department of General Surgery also supported by various sub specialities like Paediatric Surgery, Neuro Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Cardiothoracic Surgery and Onco Surgery.

We are well equipped with latest instruments in the operation theatre like harmonic scalpel, CUSA and argon bean coagulators for liver surgery and have a good surgical post operative ward where round the clock care is provided to patients in terms of pain relief and nursing care. We also have association with Physiotherapists and Dieticians in order to help in early mobilization and recovery of patients. We also have day care wards to help in early discharge of patients admitted for minor procedures.

Regular community outreach programs are being conducted in form of camps, talks by faculty to general public, TV talk shows.

We also have various insurance schemes like Vajpayee Arogya Schemes for BPL card holders which cover up the treatment cost of malignant diseases for free. In addition we have Rajiv Arogya Bhagya for APL card holders, Yashaswini, E.S.I.,

Sampoorna Suraksha and other private insurance schemes which benefit the patient in availing maximum health care at affordable cost.
