Academic Eligibility for M. Tech

Admission to M.Tech course shall be open to candidates who have passed the prescribed qualifying examination (B. E./B.Tech) as specified in ANNEXURE with not less than 50% marks in aggregate of all the all the semesters/years of the degree examination. (Cumulative sum of secured marks of all the semesters/ years divided by the sum of maximum marks). However, in case of candidates from Karnataka belonging to SC/ST and Category-1, aggregate marks shall not be less than 45%.

Entry qualifications acquired through Distance Education mode are not considered for admission to VTU M.Tech programmes

The academic eligibility is determined by considering all the subjects reflected in the marks cards of qualifying examination i.e., including audit courses and additional subject which are not considered for award of degree.

The conversion formula for conversion of CGPA into percentage is as below:

Determination of CGPA on various scales:

Undergraduate programmes obtained from The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers, New Delhi is not considered for admission to M. Tech programmes of VTU

Eligibility

Students must have BCA/ Bachelor Degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent degree OR students must have passed B. Sc./ B. Com/ B. A. with Mathematics at 10+ 2 level or at Graduation Level (with additional bridge Courses as per the norms of the University).

Students must have 50% or more (rounding-off aggregate percent is not permitted) aggregate in the qualifying examination. However, in the case of candidates from Karnataka belonging to SC/ST and Category-1, the aggregate percentage of marks shall be 45% or more (rounding-off aggregate percent is not permitted).

Admission through PGCET

Admission to MBA course shall be open for the candidates who have passed the bachelor degree from a recognized university with not less than 50% i.e., integer (rounding-off aggregate percent is not permitted) of the marks in aggregate of all the years of the degree examination.
