An exit examination is a test conducted as part of a comprehensive standards-based education reform programme that sets new standards intended to increase the learning of all students. The exam is given to students towards the end of their higher education tenure and is used to measure the general level of education and standard of education received at a learning institution. The exit exams help colleges to improve the quality of education in any specific course or department. Exit exams can be vital to the improvement of academic programme quality and effectiveness.
The purpose of the exit exams is to assess students’ educational achievement in the courses in their major area of programme study (programme's learning outcomes).
To evaluate the essential competencies (Knowledge and skill) achieved by the students of outgoing batch of students.
